Welcome to Ash Class!
Mrs Wagg and Mrs Barton absolutely love teaching year one in Ash class, with support from our lovely team of Learning Support Assistants including Mrs Booth, Mrs Rutter and Miss Shave.
In Ash, we pride ourselves on providing a happy and safe environment to nurture the children's love of learning and intellectual curiosity. We play, sing, dance, write, read, count and explore the world around us as we learn together.
Our day usually starts with a morning activity followed by a phonics lesson, focusing on a new sound each day. We then move on to either Maths, English or Guided reading after break, and work on all other subjects in the afternoon (e.g. topic, PE, RE, Science, Music, Art). We also have equipment and resources available to the children around the classroom, that are aimed at play and exploration to extend their learning. We enjoy our days with the children - and they tell us they love it too!
We're always happy to hear from our parents so feel free to chat to us with any queries. You can catch us at the classroom door at drop off or pick up times each day or email us via firstname.lastname@example.org, and we will get back to you as soon as we can. However, please note that the emails can't always be checked immediately so any urgent messages should still go through the main office, to be sure we see them in time!
