All Saints Church of England Primary School

"Guiding all our flock to flourish"

Summer Term.

This term our topic is The Victorians and we have been learning about what it was like in a Victorian school. We are all fairly sure that we prefer school today! We had a go at the 3 Rs and then went outside to do 'drill' instead of PE. We even had to pay for our lessons and have our hands inspected!  It was very strict!

Welcome to Maple Class where you will find 30 very busy, happy Year 2 learners, along with Mrs Morrison, Mrs Shields (Monday and Tuesday mornings) and Mrs Wye(most days).

It's great to be back together again although our classroom is looking a little different these days. Everyone has settled back into a new routine and we are enjoying meeting new challenges together.

Our P.E. days are Tuesday and Thursday. Children need to come to school dressed in their kit.

Our topics for this term are:

Autumn 1  'Can you describe where you live?' a study of the local area, with a Geography focus.

Autumn 2  'Celebrations' when we will learn about Diwali, Bonfire Night and Christmas.

Our Science focus is 'Are all plants the same?'

Our R.E. focus is 'Who made the world?' (exploring the Bible story of Creation and the implications of how we treat the world).

Homework is set on a Wednesday and is mostly online. Each child will receive log in details.
