I have been teaching now since 2009 and have taught in all year groups within KS2.I have been at All Saints for the last 8 years, having worked at another school prior. During this time, I have primarily spent my time teaching Year 5, but I have ventured into KS2! I am still not sure which year group I like the most.
I love being creative and doing anything arty! I am the art and design technology co-ordinator across All Saints and Sharnford and I really enjoy teaching the process of art and how to use different tools for different purposes. Recently, I have painted a school mural for the entrance hall.
I am super excited, as I am currently training to becoming the forest school leader across the Hub. Forest School is an inspirational concept providing learning opportunities through practical activities in an outdoor environment. Children enjoy the freedom to explore and experience the natural world in all seasons and in all weathers. Forest School embraces an approach of nurturing, supporting and developing the self-esteem of participants. It is an ideal environment in which to develop innovation, problem solving, risk taking, creativity and teamwork. I look forward to enriching children’s skills in a different way to what a ‘normal’ classroom would provide!
In my spare time, I can often be found standing in the rain watching my eldest son play football, as well as my youngest son occupying a lot of my attention! I always have an arty project (or two) on the go at home. I just love to experiment with a range of different mediums to produce lots of creative gifts for my family and friends. I also enjoy a holiday or two, spending quality time with all of my family.
