I have been involved with the school as chair of the PTA since 2016. I then joined All Saints initially in September 2018 as a volunteer to hear readers in my son's class. This led to employment across both All Saints and Sharnford where I have worked with every year group.
My background in Scotland for 10 years was working within a children's residential home supporting young people who have complex needs and experienced trauma. I moved to Leicestershire from Glasgow 10 years ago which was when I got involved in education. I have worked in specialist school provisions using my back ground knowledge, working with children with social, emotional and mental health needs alongside additional diagnoses such as Autism, ADHD, ODD or attachment disorders.
My role at All Saints is to support the teacher within the classroom, preparing for lessons, managing behaviours, helping children who require extra support, supervise and teach small groups, clearing up equipment and lots more. I love my job very much. It is incredibly rewarding, I feel like I'm making a difference and no two days are ever the same.
Outside school my 2 boys keep me busy as well as our dog. We like to go out for walks and find adventures. When I get the odd quiet time I love to build lego and read.
