Parents Evenings Notices
Thank you to all parents and carers for your support during a very unusual Parents Evening! It was great to speak to you all, especially under such circumstances.
We usually hand out some extra information for you to take home, but we couldn’t do that this time.
PE: Please make sure your child is ready for PE. We are trying to do as much PE as we can outside, so outside PE kit is essential. If they have long hair they need to make sure they have a hair tie, or to have put their hair up before coming to school. Earrings need to be removed or taped up before they come to school. PE is still, currently, on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Homework: While we recognise that children must have time to relax and enjoy being kids, there is a body of evidence that suggests that regular homework can have a great impact on learning, and retention of learning. We ask that, as a minimum, you encourage your children to practise their times tables, read at least 3 times a week (but daily is better!), and to practise their spellings. In addition the Google Classroom has additional homework activities that we strongly recommend that your children have a go at, as well as there being MyMaths, Dive Deeper and other options. Finally, if your child develops a passionate interest in something and they want to do any sort of homework around that, then please allow them to.
Bags: We have asked families not to bring bags to and from school as a measure of reducing risk during the pandemic. If pupils need a bag, for extra warm clothing for example, that bag should be left at school for the duration, or there is a need to take it home. Thank you for your cooperation with this.
Pencil cases: Space is tight around our tables at the moment, so we have been asking pupils to put their pencil cases in their drawers. They still have all the equipment they need to do the lessons, as we have provided those as a school. In addition, we have ordered new handwriting pens which all children will be using when they turn up.
If anything else comes up we will get in touch. Thank you for having such a great children, they are a pleasure to teach.
