Who are the PFTA?

The Parent Teacher Association is a group of parents and staff who dedicate some free time to plan, organise and help fundraising and events within the school throughout the year.

As parents of children at the school, everyone is welcome to join and get involved with the PTFA and the events we run.  There is a myth that once you are a member, you are in for life! We can reassure you that is certainly not the case; you can get involved as much or as little as you like.  However we do rely on parents and teachers volunteering their time, otherwise the great fundraising events for the school just wouldn’t happen, so we are grateful to those who offer their time.  Even if you can only commit to helping out just once a year, it all helps.

It is also a great way to get to know other parents and have a say in how we fundraise and support our school.

Why does the school need the PTFA?

The fundraising events raise money for the school to pay for much needed ‘extras’ which are not provided by the school’s shrinking budget. These ‘extras’ benefit all of our children and support their education, funds are raised for the good of all students from Reception through to Year 6.

How is the money spent?

Any money we raise goes towards buying new equipment for the school and to help fund major school projects. Our most recent project was to raise funds for a school library.

What happens at meetings?

We normally hold meetings a couple of times each term, sometimes more if we are planning events.  We chat, we decide how the money is raised and how it is spent.  We discuss ideas and organise the events and when the school needs us to help out.  Event planning meetings are usually held in the Sapcote club in the evenings. If you have any suggestions or ideas and/or would like a say in how money is raised and spent, please come along to the meetings.  There is no pressure to attend every meeting, so feel free to join us whenever you can.  The meeting dates are normally communicated via the school newsletter.

How we get information to you!

We have a Facebook page which is 'All Saints PTFA'; please check for updates.  We will also be issuing newsletters on a regular basis; this will keep you up to date with how much we have raised and future events. We also include information on the school newsletter, so keep an eye out for updates on here too.

How you can help?

New and existing members are always welcome. There are many ways you can help:

  • Offering to help at events or at other times during the year is so valuable.  It doesn’t matter if it cannot be on a regular basis.  For our biggest event, the Christmas Fayre, we need as many volunteers as possible. Whether it be helping to set up, running a stall for an hour or helping tidy up, volunteers are essential.

  • Simply support the PTA by attending our events and bringing along family and friends.

  • Become a Committee Member and come along to our meetings; we need your ideas, creativity and suggestions.

  • Sponsor a stall at our Fayres.  If you are a business big or small we will advertise your business on the programme and newsletters.

  • Donations from parents are extremely important.  You can donate time, money, items for sale, raffle and tombola prizes or skills.
